Welcome to the IDBF Forum

Welcome Dragon Boaters every where to the IDBF Paddlers Forum, the place where the IDBF Council would like you to make your voice heard about anything to do with the way the IDBF is organised and operates or indeed have your say on any aspects of our wonderful Dragon Boat Sport.

As the IDBF Executive President it is my role to not only run the day to day organisation and adminstration of the IDBF and guide its work but also to listen to what the IDBF Members, their crews and the paddlers within those crews have to say.

So at the risk of spending some more of my 25 hour day on my PC, go for it. Good, bad or indifferent, let the IDBF hear what you have to say - but I reserve the right to publish your views in the IDBF Newsletter - Dragon Boat International, in our 'Drum Beat' section and remember Dragon Boating is more than a sport, it is a tradition !

It's nice to see a forum being set up for IDBF whereby paddlers from all around the world can express what they wish to put through.

Mike, I do have a question for you though. On the IDBF website, one of the page (which does not have a link) states 'Youth Support'. Is IDBF coming with anything for the youths?

Thank you for your question. The web site is being updated and that link is not yet live but it will refer to the youth competition classes at IDBF World Champs which are U16s, U18s and U23s. The U16s and U23s were run for the first time at the recent World Champs in Prague, the U18s have been running for a few years now. Youth Development Programmes are very much the concern of the IDBF Members at National level but when requested the IDBF will always try to help with these programmes if it can. Mike H.
